Password Strength Analyzer

This tool helps you understand how strong your password really is, not by guessing, but by analyzing the structure and randomness behind it.

All analysis runs locally in your browser.

🔢 Entropy: 0 bits ℹ️ Entropy represents how unpredictable your password is. More entropy = exponentially harder to crack.

    How this works

Your password never leaves your browser.

✅ Works offline – everything is processed locally in the browser, no server involved.

✅ No network requests – open DevTools → Network, there should be no outgoing requests.

✅ Doesn’t remember input – after refreshing the page, the password field is cleared.

✅ No autocomplete – the input field does not suggest previously typed passwords.

As you type, the analyzer evaluates key factors such as:

    • password length
    • use of uppercase and lowercase letters
    • numbers and special characters
    • overall entropy (how unpredictable the password is)

The strength bar gives you a quick visual indication of how resistant your password is to common attacks.

The entropy diagram represents how much randomness your password contains.
Higher entropy means more possible combinations, which makes brute-force attacks exponentially harder.

The time-to-crack estimation translates technical strength into something more intuitive:
how long it could take for an attacker to break the password using automated methods.

All analysis happens locally in your browser.
No passwords are stored, logged, or transmitted.

    Why strong passwords matter

Passwords are still the first line of defense for most digital systems.
A weak password doesn’t fail slowly, it fails instantly.

Attackers don’t “hack accounts” one by one.
They automate guesses at massive scale, relying on predictable patterns and reused credentials.

    A strong password:

    • drastically reduces the risk of unauthorized access
    • protects not just one account, but often many connected services
    • buys you time, and in security, time matters

Strong passwords are not about complexity for its own sake.
    They are about unpredictability.

Understanding why a password is weak is the first step toward making it stronger, and that’s exactly what this tool is designed to help you do.
